I can't believe June is almost over! Summer is going very fast at times and other times (when my kids are whining how bored they are) very slow. Saturday I decided to take the older 3 kids to the Farmer's Market, since we haven't been before. It was GREAT! I was so excited to get all kinds of FRESH produce for such a cheap price, and my kids were even excited about it. Excited that is, until I actually cooked it and wanted them to eat the fresh produce. I wish I would have taken pictures, but the camera stayed in the car.
Today I took Baylee in for her 12 month check, have I mentioned how much I hate when they give shots?! She was playing peek a boo with the nurse and doctor, she knows she is quite the cute girl (when she wants to be).I was surprised at her weight and height. She has been quite the chunky monkey, in fact I often call her "Chuberiffic" as a nickname since she is such a chunk. Her measurements were:
Weight: 20.8 lbs- 37%
Height: 29 3/4 in- 64%
Head: 45 cm- 42%
The only concern they have for her is her iron. She was sick last month, really sick and her iron was incredibly low. In fact I didn't realize how low it was until they talked to me about it today. She was so sick last month that she wasn't eating anything and only drinking between 4-6 oz of formula a day. When I took her in she had lost two pounds over the weekend, and that's a lot for a little baby. They told me she was anemic and needed to give her iron drops. I didn't since I knew she was low because of not eating. What can I say, sometimes we just mess up as parents. So I have to wait for the results of her iron count today to find out if I need to give her the drops. She said kids with low iron start dropping in IQ points. That scared me, maybe it's a little dramatic, but I don't want her losing IQ points because her mom is lazy! So if she is still low, then I WILL be actually giving her the drops.
Darrell and I started Herbalife today. I haven't felt hungry at all, in fact I had to force myself to eat the mid morning snack, and even at lunch force myself to drink the shake. I tend to snack in the afternoon, and today that will not be an issue. I have no desire to eat anything! I'll keep updating on how things are going. I am already preparing myself for the dramatic weight loss Darrell will have... it's so not fair how quick the guys can drop weight!
Carly had her award ceremony for t-ball last week, so she is done for the summer. She really started enjoying it more toward the end of the season, she wasn't playing in the dirt quite as much. She likes to play catch with Lexi and Ashlee now, and is getting quite the little throw now. Lexi and Ashlee have tournaments this week- double elimination. I'm so glad the girls love softball so much, but I am so incredible ready for it to be done!
We can't have a post without a picture, so here is a picture of Baylee and her frow hair. I'll have to get a picture of it when it's got gel in, so you can see just how curly this little girl's hair is!
