Last week we celebrated my fabulous husbands birthday! Isn't it funny how we get older and our birthday's are just another day? I couldn't keep Darrell home, but I wanted to do something for him, and so did the girls.
I knew if I planned ahead I could make his absolute favorite dinner, Swiss Steak. No excuses, I wanted dinner ready to eat when he got home.
Carly wanted to make him a cake, and knew his favorite was yellow cake and chocolate frosting.
Lexi Ashlee and Carly wanted to do a surprise birthday party upstairs for him in the playroom.
We all planned and prepared, and it all worked out perfectly. My dinner actually finished on time, I usually have issues with the crock pot like dinner not being ready until 8pm. But at 5:45 dinner was ready and on the table.
Carly and Baylee helped me make the cake, or rather helped taste the batter to make sure it tasted good. The cake was frosted and ready too.
The play room was decorated so cute! I was really surprised what the girls had done for Darrell. Last year we did a Charger's cake, since he got a couple Charger's shirts. This year the girl's did a UNLV basketball theme. And put on a few dance show for him.

Place mat's and window clings along with wall decorations... pretty good for 10, 8, and 5 year old!
The kids won't let me post the video's, but they are so cute! Darrell got up and danced with them too. He is such a great dad, he loves his little girls so much!
The funniest part what when I brought the cake up stairs and lit the candles, then the girls started pounding on the playroom door pretending the handle fell off. (it does that sometimes) Darrell took his time coming up, and by the time he actually came in I had to blow the candles out because they were burning a little to vigorously, and melting wax all over the cake.
Happy Birthday Darrell!! We love you so much!
