Addicted to Reading?

Do you know how much time I would have on my hands if I could just learn to put a book down? I LOVE to read! I DON'T love to read self help books- they bore me. Actually there are a few that I like, Parenting Breakthrough is a great one, Sherri Dew's books are good, there are a few others, but really I just enjoy a good clean love story. ~sigh~

Some of the books I've read lately are:

Goose Girl
Santa Letters (so so good!)
Percy Jackson series
Hunger Games
Catching Fire
The Lacemaker and the Princess (Ashlee's book, I like to read and discuss with the girls)
Anita Stansfield books (very sweet and sappy loves stories- but I love them)
Lucky One

What have you read recently? I am out of books now and need some suggestions.

ahh, books-love them. One of my YW just said to me "school has made me forget how much I enjoy reading." So glad I love them again!
recent good reads:
Anna Karenina
3 cups of Tea
My Antonia
Persuasion
A long way from Chicago
Single Shard
(You'd probably like the last 2 the best)

I am so glad you posted this, I have been looking for a new book to read! And, Ben got some of the Percy Jackson books for his birthday so we already have those in the house! Have you read the Mitford series by Jan Karon? The first is a little slow to get into, but once you are- wow! She is a great storyteller and they are super clean and CHARMING. I reread them every few years! Another series that I found recently and loved was by Betsey Brannon Green and starts with the book Hearts in Hiding- they are LDS and set in Georgia not far from where I'm from! loved them!!

I am reading Catching Fire right and I have to say I think I like it a little more than the Hunger Games. I am not done with it yet but we will see. My sister said the third comes out in August? So exciting!

For our book club here we are reading a book called "The Persistence of Memory". I haven't read it yet but might be one you want to check out. It looks good.

Are you on Goodreads? I don't get on there very often but it is great at finding good books to read. Then you can just scroll through your friends books and see which ones they have rated high and start from there!

Have you read the Fablehaven series or any of the sequels to Goose Girl (Enya Burning, River of Secrets, etc). Do you like historical fiction? You still need to come browse my bookshelves sometime. I have plenty of books and re-read most of them at least once a year. How sad is that?

I wish I inherited that gene. I enjoy self-help books and anyhting non-fiction. I see no point in spending my time in fantasyland. However, I can see how it might be fun at time to escape reality. I love Merrilee Boyack. Instead of reading I find talks on CD. I'm listening to Helping Your Children Fly, right now. I enjoy it so far. I love Sheri Dew talks on CD. They just came out with a whole set of hers. My kids love Troy Dunn too.

You need to add all Nicholas Sparks' books to your list of good love stories.
