I have been condensing all my picture files and came across these video's I took of Carly and Ashlee. I think I posted them a few years ago- but I just laugh every time I watch the last one!
Darrell has always let the kids run across, balance, or jump off his stomach since they were little. The kids beg him to spit to make it seem like he has some gas issues. They are very short video's but you have to watch the first one to understand what Carly is talking about in the 2nd one. I love her little voice- how she can't say her R's yet.. They grow too quick!
Carly has been cracking us up lately with her funny sayings. She's at the age where she is constantly asking is certain words are ok to say and what words are not. This started because about a month ago she blurted out, "Holy Freaking Crap!" I told her that wasn't something she should say, maybe use a few different words. She reminded me I say "crap" all the time. I told I shouldn't. Thirty seconds later a car cut me off and I almost hit them- guess what came out of my mouth? Yep, it was, "Crap." I am not a good role model sometimes!
Darrell and Carly were playing the game Trouble. Carly has some serious good luck when she plays Darrell or I- she kicks our behinds. Carly beat Darrell getting all her pegs home when Darrell didn't even have one out of the start yet! He asked her, "Carly, how do you do that?" She said, "I'm awesome" in the most casual voice, like we should already know of her awesomeness!
I was going visiting teaching a few weeks ago and it was snowy and muddy outside. I told her where we were going and she got upset because we had just washed out car, but were going to have to go on dirty muddy roads. When we got there she didn't want to get out of the car since she had on "her best brown shoes"
Carly was telling me about one of her friends saying mean things to her. I talked to her about remembering that friend had said sorry. Carly then told me, "Well she should know it just breaks my heart right open when she talks to me like that."
I love this little girl! Since she started her new pre school she is gone longer during the day, and I know she loves it! She definitely needs structure and consistency, which I am not always great at giving her. Sadly she spends quite a bit of her day parked in front of the TV while I clean, blog, read, laundry... I also think she loves to be treated like her big sisters. She has noticed many times that they get to do things she hasn't been allowed to do because I baby and shelter her. She now gets to sit on the couch and feed Baylee her bottles by herself- I don't hover in fear of her dropping her. She helps me do more jobs- not me dong most of the work and her watching me. I don't think she was thrilled about that though. I give her more responsibility and she thrives on it. I am so thankful I have been blessed with this little girl, and her other 3 sisters who are just as "awesome" as Carly!
