State Tournament- Little Rock Arkansas

Lexi's team was able to play int he State Tournaments in Little Rock. I was slightly apprehensive because the reservations made for the team were at a hotel I knew was on the cheaper side, and the not as clean side. But I sucked it up and we checked in there. I told the kids they could not take their shoes off unless they were in the bed, and they could not sit on the comforter either. There was dirt in so many places and mold in the shower tiles, and so on. We spoke to another team members family and they had checked in as well, and they seemed to be handling it better then me. We went shopping and got some dinner. In that time Darrell and I were both being kind of grouchy and we finally decided to change hotels. We both were trying to be good sports, but were grossed out by the hotel. I went to get our things out of the hotel and check out- and there on the wall were a row of boogers! Blech!! I checked up out of there and the owner was incredibly nice. I apologized over and over, cause really- how do you tell someone their hotel is nasty and dirty?!?

We went to Comfort Inn, where everything was clean an the pool was perfect- I was not afraid of my children getting some nasty parasite from it!

Saturday morning while eating breakfast the other team member's family walked into to rent a room at Comfort Inn also. We laughed at their story of waking up to bugs crawling on them, hard beds, and the mold. In the end no one stayed at the Econolodge, we all had rooms together at and the girls had so much fun!

Saturday afternoon the games started. It was HOT, I mean really HOT! These girls played their hearts out. They did so well! They won their games Saturday which put them to playing on Sunday.

Carly, Amanda, and Kadence are such sweet friends. They play so well together and are the cutest cheerleaders for the Rockstars!

We have always kept Sunday as a family day, we have never done sports or anything like that on a Sunday. But when Lexi's team signed up and turned in the roster some kids dropped out- leaving no spare players. If Lexi didn't play the team would have to forfeit. We wish we would have known before hand, we would not have had Lexi's name on the roster. But because we already did, and she has only every played Saturday tournaments we left her on just waiting to see how the games went.

They played Sunday and came in third place. They were great games- horrible calls by the ump's over and over- but great games! Our girls were run over by one team. It was so sad! Our first base man was punched in the kidneys by two players on one team, so she could n't tag them. Instead she would end up on the ground hurting. The ump's did nothing- so incredibly frustrating!

But even playing some dirty teams- our girls held it together and were great sports.

Congrats Rockstars!
