We were oh so tired on Thursday and decided we should just drive to Las Vegas instead of driving right to Utah for my reunion. We left at noon and got to Darrell's mom's house at 4:30. The kids are always so happy to see their Grandma's! Caleb Chase and Chloe are still living with their Grandma so it was an added bonus to have cousins to play with.
These kids have been through so much in their little lives. They have been living with their Grandma since the end of November- and they are doing so much better! Stability and structure do so much for kids. Their Dad has just started getting visitation and able to keep them for the weekend. After one weekend of being with their Dad Caleb was RPC'd from school. Their Dad does love them- but he just doesn't have the same standards and understanding of what kids need from their parents. Their Mom- Danielle is not doing so well. She has been addicted to pain killers for so long that it kind of messed with her mind a bit. She now has had so much stress that it's caused her to kind of have like a mental break down. The best thing for her would be be in a rehab that can also help her mentally but in the state of Nevada you have to take yourself in and she doesn't understand that she's not thinking clearly. Sharon is juggling work, and being a mom to these kids- it's just not right for a Grandma to have to raise their grand kids- but it's really helped them so much.
Baylee and Chloe are 6 months apart- and they are all kinds of silly together. She was calling Baylee Hailey- because she just couldn't remember her name. Baylee made a little nickname for her "Clo". It was so cute to watch them play together.
After staying at Sharon's for a bit we went to my mom's house to do laundry and get some sleep. My mom started working at the Temple a few weeks ago, so she didn't get home till late that night. She and my dad had always wanted to work in the Temple together, but it's great my Mom is able to work there now. That night she was telling me about a lady who asked her if her husband worked upstairs. I chuckled and told her Dad was working in a different kind of upstairs. She then told me how that ladies husband also passed away the same day and year my dad did. I knew exactly who she was talking about. Darrell and I went to the University Ward with a girl (Amy) who's Dad passed away the same day as mine. It was that friends mom who now works the same night as my mom in the Temple. I'm really excited for this because I know that my mom working in the Temple will give her the peace she needs and this gives her a common bond with this other lady.

Sounds like a fun trip! What amazing people you and your husband's moms are.
