So Happy!

Today so far has been a great day! Nothing major going on, but an easy morning. Carly let me soak in the bath for a half hour before I had to shower for my doctor appointment. Darrell came home to watch Carly, so I didn't have to call one of my friends to watch her- I feel like I always am asking someone to watch my kids! I went to my appointment with 3 questions, and I was so afraid I would forget them- I don't remember things very well. So in preparation, I wrote my questions down- but realized I forgot my list of questions while I sat in the waiting area! I sat there reminding myself of the questions over an over- they weren't really important questions- but it would bug me that I forgot to ask.
First good thing that happened- the nurse told me at my next appointment I needed to do the glucose test- I forgot I'd be far enough along for that- love when the time goes by faster!
Bad thing- I gained 8 pounds in one month- not so good! But, most women have gained 12-15 pounds at this point in their pregnancy- I have only gained 8- trying to stay positive here! I just wish I didn't enjoy food quite as much as I do!
Second good thing- Dr. Smith came in and asked how Baylee is doing. It caught me completely off guard- I had forgotten Lexi and Ashlee told him that's what we might name her at my last appointment. I love when doctors treat you like a real person- not just a patient.
Third good thing- He didn't make a big deal of my 8 pounds of gained weight in 4 weeks!
Fourth good thing- I remembered one of my questions- would he be willing to induce me. I have been a little worried since the kids will be getting out of school very close to my due date, I am a little worried. With the snow days they will get out June 5th, Dr. Smith said he would induce me around the 2nd!! I was so happy- I thought I was going to have to beg and plead my case. Some may not agree with induction, but I am a BIG fan! My deliveries have been VERY quick with all my kids and I have NO desire to try and be brave and go with out an epidural!
I'll quit listing all the other good things that happened, cause after he was fine with inducing me early I didn't really care about anything else! But I did remember to ask my other 2 questions. I never remember anything- but did today!
Little Miss Baylee is quite the active little thing! Darrell and the girls have not been able to feel her move very often, since she is incredibly active in the middle of the night. Last night I got up for the third time to go to the bathroom and Darrell was awake. He told me the baby was kicking him so hard in the back it woke him up! I like to sleep with my stomach up against him- it relaxes me and helps me sleep when I'm pregnant. He was so surprised at how active the baby is at night. He also was laughing at the fact that if it was hard enough to wake him up, I must not get much sleep- he is correct!

Hey Alissa! I'm so glad that everything is going well and you are feeling so good. I can't believe you've only gained 8 pounds so far! But I guess you were pretty sick in the beginning (I was never sick enough to lose any weight, and gained 25-30 pounds with each one). And I love the name Baylee--it's so cute. Did you ever decide on a middle name?

You have to love days like that. It definately makes you appreciate them since they come so seldom. I too was a big fan of induction. It is nice to be prepared and have the kids situated. Some people are against it but I don't know any other way. Even Max was planned. We had expected to schedule an induction, but scheduled a c-section instead. But most of all I am a big fan of not ever having to go through all of that again:)

My record weight gain was 13 pounds in 4 weeks. That's right, thirteen. It was 2 pounds shy of half the weight I gained through my whole pregnancy. I was shocked!

Me too! I love to put my belly to Ben's back when we have a baby in there. Mostly because he doesn't get the opportunity to be pregnant so I want the baby to be as close to him as she can. It is kind of a way to bond between the three of us :)

I am just catching up on your blog and reading your last few posts. I hope Darrell is not affected by layoffs! It is so fun to hear you talking about being pregnant. You are such a cute mom! Enjoy your pregnancy- even the weight gains!!

Yeah, so you totally cannot feel bad about your weight gain. I'm pretty sure I have doubled that and I'm only two days ahead of you! I think I babies are twinners in different mommies! Baylee sounds just like the one I'm cooking! Not many people have felt her move either! And yeah for good days! I had one too, not quite that good, but better than yesterday! :)

I'm glad your pregnancy is going so smoothly. You should be celebrating if all you've gained is 8 lbs! Everybody has one big month where they gain a massive amount of wieght, just consider this month it.

Rest assured, gaining 8 pounds in one month is no big deal... It happened to me everytime somewhere around the 6 month mark. And hooray for an early induction!

Sounds like you have a great OB doctor - I think they can make all the difference in helping your pregnancy go smoother.
And I love the girls Valentines' hairdos - so cute!

It's so nice when just the little things go great! So the baby's name is Baylee? I feel your pain (literally) with the baby kicking-this one is starting to hurt!I was so excited to go to my last Dr's appt and to have only gained a small amount-those big gainers are hard to take.
Ok, so is this pregnancy going harder than your others? I'm feeling so big-ok I just need to call so I can chat with someone who gets it ;o)
Hey-those hair dos were extra cute-were they on that "she does hair site"

Love the name Baylee!!! That is really pretty!

Thanks for the update on WM. Sorry to hear your friend lost her job though. That is awful. I am guessing your hubby is still okay? We are pretty much going with the mindset that we will not hear anything until March. I will ask my recruiter about it next week though (she is external but now I am wondering if her internal contact was let go. Valerie was the gal at WM that DH had been working with). He is getting frustrated but what can we do at this point? He had an interview here in AZ but they put the position on hold. We are getting that a lot. Sigh. Hoping the next month goes by quickly.

Thanks again for the update!!! Glad to hear everything is going well with your PG!!
