Nakedbowl Sunday

Darrell and a few friends planned a get together for the Superbowl. It's a good thing these men are married- the original plan was to come over right after church- remember we get out at 5, so it would be around 5:30. I asked Darrell what was happening with dinner- his response was there would be enough snack and junk food everyone would be full. Hello- did he forget he and all his friends have kids, and wives that don't really just want everyone filling up on junk?! I reminded him of that little bit of information, and we decided we could BBQ hot dogs and then have all the snacks. Not that hot dogs are that healthy- but at least the kids were getting some sort of dinner. The kids all ate and ran off playing- the men were watching the games- the mom's were playing board games. The game was almost over- and it was close- there was tension in the air- everyone (except one, but by the end he was converted to the Cardinals) was hoping the Cardinals would win.
One of the kids came up and was telling on some kids. When there is a child telling on another- I always sort of listen to see if Carly's name is brought up, because it generally is. I did indeed hear Carly's name and asked him what was going on. I heard him say Carly and Anna had their clothes off, I figured they were upstairs doing dress up and told him it was ok. He had a look on his face that told me I needed to check out what was going on. I waited a few minutes then went upstairs to find Carly and Anna. I looked in the playroom and the dress up's were all cleaned up- and I couldn't see any of Carly or Anna's clothes on the floor, so I figured they got dressed and went down to Carly's room to play. When I got downstairs my friend Linsey said she was really sorry. Hmmmm, why is she saying sorry? Then Scott was laughing and said sorry also- now I was getting nervous! He told me to go look in Carly's room. The same time I had gone upstairs to find Carly and Anna, Scott had gone in Carly's room to see if Luke was in there and to start cleaning up. When he opened Carly's door he saw two naked little girls standing there coloring on the wall! As soon as Carly and Anna saw Scott they dropped down in t e chair they were standing in and hid. When I went in the room Aubrey was trying to get Anna dressed, and checking out the damage to the walls. I had to walk back out of the room and laugh, because not only were they naked and drawing on the wall, they had also colored all over each other with the markers! We have no idea why in the world they took off their clothes, or why they decided to color on a wall. Darrell was really mad, and I couldn't stop laughing. We didn't care about the wall- we were going to repaint, but the dresser was looking like it was going to need repainting. When Darrell is upset with the kids for doing something wrong, he doesn't spank them- it's a very rare thing, instead he will clap his hands REALLY loud and that child always starts crying- you would think he spanked them by the way they are crying! I guess it's how he gets his frustration out. Anyway, he did the "Clap" to Carly- and of course she burst into tears. I thought I was doing a good job keeping a straight face in front of the girls, but when Aubrey said to Aaron, "Will you come get this girl and make her cry too?!" I started laughing so hard! Anna wasn't crying yet, and Aubrey wanted her to get the point that what she did was wrong.
Lucky for us the markers were washable highlighters! It all came off, and we got everything cleaned up. Carly and Anna are such sweet little friends, 99% of the time they play for hours and you don't have to pay attention to what they are doing. The other 1% of the time they find some crazy things to get into. This isn't the first time they have colored all over themselves with marker, they did it with their clothes on last time though! Another time they got into Aubrey's paints and painted themselves and the carpet- it was not finger paint and was not washable. Aubrey had to buy a rug to cover her floor it was so bad!
The next morning Carly was talking about playing with all her friends the night before and all the games they had played. I wasn't asking any questions, just listening to her. Out of the blue she told me if someone asks her to take her clothes off again she will say no. That suddenly got my attention! Turns out the same little boy that told us Anna and Carly were naked, had been in the room with them also. I talked to his mom, and we laughed some more. He is only a few months older then Carly and Anna, so it was not some perverted thing, he came in Carly's room and Carly and Anna were half way undressed, so he told Carly to finish getting undressed, Carly in return told him to undress also! We don't really know what all happened, we only know the little bits we are getting from the kids. I think Carly and Anna had been coloring on themselves, and took their shirts off to color each other, then Seth came in. He joined in on the fun for a little while, then started trying to tell the girls to get their clothes on and they wouldn't. He dressed and went to get his mom- that is when his mom and I assured him that Anna and Carly were just fine.
This all had to have happened in around 10- 15 minutes, the whole coloring, undressing things- I had just checked on them right before they found the highlighters.
There have been many discussions on all the wrong choices they made- coloring on the walls, coloring on the dresser, coloring on each other, and on top of all the coloring- YOU DON'T EVER TAKE CLOTHES OFF!
So that was our fun Superbowl! I'm obviously glad they are so young, that it was all innocent. I am hoping and praying in 10 years it will not be so easy to convince my daughter to take off her clothes!!
No pictues of the atrists this time- we have taken pictures of them in the past with all their little artistic abilities, but now know it makes them thinkit's funny when teh camera comes out.

That is so funny! It's fun to have a break sometimes when friends come over, but then you don't always know what you're gonna find in their rooms after they're done! I love the CLAP, that is hilarious! I can just picture it, too!
