This week has been a little of a downer! Wal Mart Home Office is laying off around 800 people in the next few weeks. Darrell was told his department wouldn't be affected by this, but it makes us a little nervous! Also more aware of the importance of having a savings account, and just being prepared for anything. A few of our good friends have been affected by this, and it's hard to see that. They are great examples to us of their faith and trust! We are keeping them all in our prayers, and hope that they will find jobs quickly!

Alissa, it is so scary when people you know lose their jobs. This happened in Ben's company too. Good thing Darrell is highly educated and much needed. Still, I can't believe they told him his department wouldn't be effected because you never know with the economy. We'll pray for your family.
What is the gender of your baby, do you know yet?
Oh, my heart breaks. I saw a lot of my students parents lose their kons this year. This is the time to serve and share what we can.
kons = jobs.....did I tell you I teach kinder and thats why I can't write!
Being in that boat, I can attest it's a scary proposition. I'm just thankful we have some savings, some black beans and pears, and not a lot of debt. Good luck!
How overwhelming!!!! We will keep our fingers crossed for you all. This economy is wacked out!
800 people? That is so many!!! We pray that Darrell won't be affected. These are definitely trying times for so many people and it's been hard to see so many friends lose their jobs. I know I always look in my pantry and wonder if I have enough to sustain us for 2 or 3 months if something horrible and unexpected happened.
Hi Alissa. Yes, we heard the news and have been told that the position that my hubby applied for is on hold until at least April. Sigh. He is interviewing here in AZ and so we are hoping that works out. If WM comes through later, then we'll move but for right now, I am hoping he will get something local.
Thank you for the update on when they are planning to lift the freeze. That helps. I'll keep you posted. Soooo glad your DH still has his job!
