Dance Recital

Lexi and Ashlee had their dance recital last night. It was called Carnival of the Animals- it was a play kind of like Night At the Museum. Lexi was a mermaid and Ashlee was a lion. It was a busy and CRAZY day. They take ballet at school- which is so nice- there aren't many elementary schools that offer ballet. They left their school at 11:30 and were at the Art Center until after their recital at 7:30. Lexi has been sick, I took her into the doctor and she had an ear infection that ruptured her ear drum, I felt so bad! She also had a tooth about to fall out and was so nervous she would loose it during the recital- luckily it came out when we went for ice cream after! Ashlee was just excited to finally show us her program, and wear make up! They both did so well!

They both told me they don't want to do ballet next year- they like it, but want to do Girl's On the Run program instead. It's a really good program focusing on girls self esteem, good health and exercise. It's basically a track team for 3rd grade on up, with lot's of talks and discussions on loving yourself. They love to run, so I know they will like this program too.

They both look beautiful! That's so cool that the school offers ballet. The On the Run program sound really great too. Is that also through the school?

I love your little ballerinas.

Did I ever tell you who Rachel is? She is Uncle Bud's (grandma's brother) granddaughter. I think it works out to something like our third cousin. ;)

They look so grown-up, and beautiful-love how pretty ballerina costumes are. Kennedy is doing the "walk, jog, run" club at her school and loves it-we are amazed at how well/far she runs. Must be a good family trait ;o)

I can't believe all the extar stuff your school offers! The kids have a running club, but focusing on gilr's sef-esteem is a big+. Cute pictures.
