Cake Boss?!

Today is Darrell's birthday!! We actually celebrated last night by having a little party for him. While trying to do his cake I realized I will NEVER be a cake boss!!

Party Plans-

Football shaped cake with Charger's colors

Balloons up the banister in blue and yellow- Charger's colors

Everyone wearing Charger's colors

Charger's song playing over and over during party

Gifts of his new Chargers shirts to open

Yummy dinner ready to eat when he walks in the door

Guess how many of these party plans worked?! NONE! I don't know what happened! The cake broke in the pan when I tried to dump it out to make a football shape, so he got a strange looking wannabe football cake with Charger's colors.

Yes, those are my attempts at lightening bolts!

It was pouring rain so I couldn't go pick up my balloons to hang- and dragging 4 kids into the store while it was raining was not sounding appealing to any of us. Lexi did have on a yellow shirt- and I forgot to get everyone else ready because of my disaster of a dinner. Oh, the dinner- it didn't cook! I had the crock pot on, but it was not working- of all the luck! Darrell's gift did not arrive yet- so he got a picture of it instead.

So the party did not go how I planned- but it was fun anyway. We took Darrell to O'Charley's and had a yummy dinner, he got to have bite size shrimp and steak- something I would never even attempt to cook! When we got home I hurried and finished the cake while he was holding the baby. The kids decorated the playroom with cut outs of balloons, hearts, and thunderbolts. (for the Chargers!) I brought the cake upstairs and called Darrell up. I told him there was a bug for him to get. He came up and we jumped out and yelled surprise- he was really surprised! The kids are very creative and did a great job on decorating. So even though things didn't go how they were planned- it still turned out fun!

And for the REAL birthday- we are going to Harry Potter tonight!! At least I know that will work out just fine!

So in honor of his 37th birthday I planned on listing 37 things about him. But since it is his birthday and I know he won't want me to list them I won't! It is going to be very hard for me not to post these 37 things- but I'll do it just for him! I won't list how he loves to.... wait, nope, I won't do it!!
