In all my excitement for school starting last week I forgot how much I miss my girls!
There are a lot of perks to my kids taking the bus, some of them are:
-no worries of being late for school
-mom doesn't drive them to school with out a bra
-lots of time to talk to friends
-do homework after school while waiting for the bus
But there are some draw backs to the bus as well:
-leave the house at 7:00
-get home at 3:40
-school has been over for so long they have forgotten what happened in the day
-a half hour before and after school that I don't have with them, but could if I drove
It has been a strange summer trying to adjust to the needs of a baby along with the needs of my other 3 daughters. They each have their own personalities and things they need from Darrell and I. I feel like it has gone a lot smoother with this baby then with the others, but now that the kids are back in school I realize I missed doing a lot of things with them because I was tired, feeding Baylee, cleaning, changing diapers, running errands....
I was starting to feel bad about it, but then read an article in the Ensign. I'll blog about that another day. It made my day so much better! I do feel bad for loosing my patience with them all summer, but luckily kids forgive and forget quickly. There were a few times in the summer I'd go to bed and under my pillow was a card from one of my kids, Ashlee made one that said I was the best mom ever. Lexi made me one that said how much she loved me. Hopefully they can keep loving me and thinking I'm the best while I continue to try and figure out how to be a better mom!
One thing I don't miss- the mess of school bags, lunch boxes, shoes, and jackets always left on the floor!

You rock Lissa! They are so cute. Glad they are enjoying school and the adventures on the bus!! So sweet!!
I was also ready for school to start... but I miss having Tan Man around. I guess we just can't have it both ways can we?! I'm looking forward to your blog post about that ensign article!
I very much agree. I miss chatting with the older girls and laughing (ya know, in between the bickering and my yelling!)
