I was able to go on the Polar Express field trip with Carly's class last week. It is always so much fun to be surrounded by 5 year olds- they are always so happy and everything is funny to them. The bus ride was quite the experience, Carly and her crew of friends chose the last two seats on the bus... I forgot how bumpy it is back there.
When we got to the train station is was COLD! The teachers didn't have the kids bring their coats, because we'd be on the bus and train- I don't think anyone anticipated the 20 minute wait outside while they got everyone seated.
The Conductor was really nice and funny with the kids- they all loved him. Some of the kids were very sad when they realized we weren't really going to the North Pole like in the movie.
The train had a slight delay when it came time to take us back- there was sand on the tracks... this wouldn't have been so bad except it was 1:00 before we got back to the school, we were suppose to be back at 11:30- and the kids usually eat at 10:30. Kids were starving, I felt so bad!
Carly's friend took this picture of us. I love this little girl and am so thankful to be a stay at home mom so I can do these sort of things with my kids. Carly fell asleep on the train for about 20 minutes, I think she was feeling a little motion sickness. A child in another class threw up- so glad we weren't in that box car!

So fun! Mason's class is doing a Polar Express party on Friday, but they're only going to the lunchroom to watch the movie in their jammies - your trip sounds much more exciting!
