A Couple Of Snow Days

We have now had three snow days and I haven't posted any picture's of them yet. What a fun blessing snow days are- when they come one at a time. It's not so fun when they come two or three days then into the weekend at a time. Why the negative attitude?? I really really really dislike make up days at the end of the year! I also get annoyed with the drying out of clothes, shoes, boots, gloves, coats, and socks every time the kids go out. But the fun always ends up over riding the not so fun parts. The kids LOVE to play in the snow. I don't know how they can stay out for hours on end- I last only 20- 30 minutes and I'm frozen!
The first snow day of this year was a few weeks ago. It wasn't much snow, but a great amount to play in and melt away by the next day.

This week we have had two snow days with lot's of play outside. I have taken Baylee out a few times- normally Darrell is home to take the kids out, and I stay inside and make hot chocolate. But he was at work slaving away so I HAAAAD to take her out. She loved it as much as her sisters. She would have lasted a few hours but her old mother was freezing!

The sun was so bright reflecting off the snow, no one could open their eyes. I had tears running down my face because my eyes were watering so much just trying to keep them open to take pictures. I should have moved them to the other side of the house where there was a little shade.
The older kids tried building forts with their beach equipment- it was a slow process but when they finished they had great foundations made for forts!

Some of the snow drifts went almost to Baylee's thighs, which would make her topple over on her face. I kept waiting for her to cry and complain of being cold- but she would TRY to get up and start running again. Carly was a great helper to her and kept trying to find ways to help her not fall.

I know I complain about the snow, but I am so thankful to live in a place that has all four seasons. I love that there is a distinct change of season and each one has it's blessings and the fun that comes with them.

We so rarely ever get snow days here that I actually do enjoy then when they happen. But I also enjoy the fact that it is not FREEZING cold here. I like the warm weather. :-)

Oh man I wish we could have a snow day after that much snow! The snow comes up to my knees and I still have to go! Looks like you're having fun though! :)

I miss the snow and four seasons! All the desert rats here think I'm crazy, but I really do! Such cute pictures. And Bailey's (sp) pigtails are adorable! I can put Josie's hair in little pigtails, but she has the baby mullet thing going on--no bangs in the front!
