Run Marty Run!

Our friend made a goal 2 and a half year ago that when he turned 40 he wanted to run 40 miles. Yes, you read that correctly... 4-0 miles! We decided to cheer him on during his 8 hour run. The kids had such a great time playing with friends, making up cheers, and running with Marty.

These pictures were around his 30th mile, he was still smiling and talking as he stopped to refill his water bottle.

I wanted the girls to see that if you set a goal and work hard for it, you can do it. I mentioned to the the girls Marty's run, and Lexi was so shocked to know someone could just pump out 40 miles, she didn't think it was possible. The last of his run was a mile and a half, Marty had quite the crew encouraging him on his last bit- so many kids ran with him. It gave me goosebumps to see Marty and know what an accomplishment this was. I'll have to get pictures of the end of the race, the older kids ran the last mile and a half with him, the younger ran the last half mile- seriously awesome!

I so admire you for getting this post up. I have tried a couple of times but I get too emotional to write about it. Thank you for your love and support!
