Be Your Own Kind Of Beautiful- Fashion Show

Lexi and her friend Jenna put on a fashion show with the 10-11 year old girls from church. They spent hours planning exactly how this was going to happen, and it turned out so cute!

As a mom it was hard to stand back and let them really plan and carry this out on their own, but it went really smooth and everyone really enjoyed it.

They invited the girls via evite, then hand delivered an invitation that specified what season or style of modest clothing for them to dress in. Each girl was to bring 2 outfits and could change and get ready in the dressing rooms.

The day before the fashion show they were baking all day. I wasn't home but was able to come home between all my errands to make sure all was going well and that my house was still standing. They were a little over zealous with the dessert planning but decided cutting cookie recipes in half should solve the desserts coming out our ears problem.

 Jenna and Lexi spoke to the girls about why it's important to dress modestly and how our bodies are a Temple. They taught the girls a song to the tune of Head Shoulders Knees and Toes- but the words were Reach, Rear View, Bend, and Sit.. Showing the girls how to check from each angle if their goods are showing. 

 The desserts and music playing- each of the girls got a cd with church songs about letting your light shine and being a daughter of God.

Lydia is our neighbor who we LOVE! She came over and was helping bake and decorate cookies and had no idea what they were for. The girls invited her to be in the fashion show and she was so excited. She told her mom as she was leaving to come over, "I'm a little nervous because I'm going to be the only Protestant there." We love that girl!!

I was so impressed with Lexi and Jenna and the amount of preparation they put in this. I didn't know they were making cd's for each of the girls, they were great at cleaning everything up. They baked from sun up to sun down and my kitchen was spotless. (except for the flour on the floor that they couldn't see and was quite slippery!:))

The younger girls at church really look up and admire the older girls and I love that each of the girls in our ward are really really great kids!
