Are You Coming or Not?!

This week I have had the fun of waiting for a repair man to come do the final touch ups since our walk through. It has been 4 days of him making an appointment- then canceling and making them for the next day. I'm so annoyed and irritated about it! Do people really think we enjoy sitting around the house waiting for them to come?!
I have receive a harassment comment on updating my blog- fine, fine I'll do it! We have been very busy this week- all the final things before school starts on Monday. Saturday we went with friends to the Springdale Aquatic Center- it was so much fun. I have a few pictures- all the older kids together, and Carly with her little buddies Anna and Luke. They are going to be a dangerous threesome! We have some great friends here- we are really blessed to have moved into such a friendly Ward! I was of course nervous thinking it's going to be yucky and old (the aquatic center- not our friends!)- cause we're in Arkansas. Darrell reminded me that I tend to think the negative- and it's probably not gross at all. I have been worried about everything being gross and old- just because Arkansas sounds like such back woods state. I have been wrong every time I have been worried. I have yet to be in a dirty old part of town- I don't think they exist where we live. I love it here! The aquatic center was great- the kids loved it and it's always fun to be with friends. It was great for me- cause I realized how much I missed my Vegas friends once we got back.
School starts Monday- ugghh/ yipee! Meet your teacher is tomorrow night- we're all excited. We couldn't go to the school we were zoned for- they won't let you put more then a certain amount of kids in each class. So we had to drive across town to a different school. The schools her are great- thanks to Wal- Mart! But this year we got in the school all the kids from the Ward go to. Now is the big issue of the bus. They want to- I'm scared for them. I have told them I'll take them in the morning, and they can ride it home. I know I'll be following the bus to my house for the first month. I'm way to paranoid!
Hmmm.. what else can I update? We are having a big High School Musical 2 party Friday night. The kids have been counting down the days for it to come out- we had to buy the soundtrack as soon as it came out. Ashlee doesn't really like HSM- I think it's just because Lexi likes it so much- and Ashlee likes to be disagreeable. But she has been making up dances every time one of the new commercials for HSM2 are on the TV. I told her I loved her dances- she was a little embarrassed- and then informed me it was ok for someone to not like the first HSM and to LOVE the second one. My luck will be Lexi won't like the 2nd and then we'll have a fight on our hands! Oh well, such is life!
The last thing I have been busy with is our dinner exchange. If you guys don't do it in your Wards- you should! We have 10 in our group and swap frozen homemade meals once a month. I made chimichangas this time- I did learn if you freeze food with toothpicks in them- don't take the toothpicks out until they thaw. A few broke in the chimichanga's and I had to send out a warning email to watch out for pieces of toothpicks. Anyway, it's a great way to add new meals to your menu- and you don't have to make them- just put them in the oven or crock pot!

I am so proud of you, pictures and all!!! It is so good to hear that you have a great ward family. It does make me miss you. I feel guilty seeing that outdated family pic on your blog. Sorry again. The but thing, I totally understand. I do know how paranoid you are and I can't believe you are even considering it. Iam proud of you!!! Tell your girls good luck at school.

Oh Alissa, you crack me up!! The gross/old stuff reminds me of when we go to Utah--- you walk into a gas station and instead of slot machines & the cloud of cigarette smoke, there's actually a pleasant smell and it's clean!

I love the chimichanga story--maybe the "backwoods" people of Arkansas will look at the toothpicks as a nice little gift they can use while eating your chimis! (by the way, I would love to see your recipe for those)

Great job on the pictures too--they look great! And I can't believe Jill would make a comment about your butt! (Ha Ha)

Alissa I saw your blog link on Jill's blog. I have been waiting patiently for the new address you promised to send... Yeah, I know we live close enough to actually come visit you, so it isn't safe to give it out! It sounds like you like it there.
I won't tell you why I will NEVER bus my kids, but here everyone buses their kids, so I am a total freak. With Lance in Middle School this year, I will be spending 2 hrs. per day in my car taking and picking up.
So fun to see you all on here- the girls have gotten so big!
