I am behind of posting so hopefully I can catch up in the next few days. I might not necessarily go in order either- what ever picture's I pull up first are what will be blogged about first!
This past Friday we ALL- as in Darrell, Alissa, Lexi, Ashlee, Carly, and Baylee ran/ walked in the Gold Rush 5k. Darrell and I have been excited to have all the kids do these, and think it would be fun for all of us to get in the habit of running one together every few months. I need to learn how to run first...
Darrell ran with Lexi and Ashlee- they finished in 32 minutes, Lexi had a few asthma attacks during the run, so they had to slow it down a few times. It was fun to see them on the turn around- I love that we were all there to cheer each other on.
I had Carly and Baylee. Carly is quite the active little girl and I knew she could run further then me. I was wrong. Her poor little legs just couldn't go that far, she was sobbing a few times and I felt HORRIBLE just dragging her along so we could finish. But we finished at, well really I don't know what the time was- I think like 50 minutes.
Yeah, not the most flattering picture of any of us- who looks fab after 3.2 miles?!
I watched people cut the race short and turn sooner, I did debate it since Carly was so sad, but I wanted her to be able to finish it all the way. SO we didn't cheat- we just kept a slower pace and in the end thought we were the last in the race. After we crossed about 5 more people came behind us... I wonder if the police officer followed us since he could see me trying so hard to keep Carly going- I promised her a piggy back ride across the finish line- but Darrell ran the last little bit with her. Her face was priceless! She was so happy to have finished!
The kids from school got a little medal and ribbon for finishing, they gave Carly and Baylee one too. Carly kept telling everyone she won a gold medal- with that and her Popsicle you would never guess how tired and upset she was through the race!:)
It was so fun to do this as a family- I loved it! I can't wait for the day when we all can run it. I was SOOO sore Saturday and Sunday with pushing the stroller and basically dragging Carly... I was sore in places I didn't know I could be sore in!

WAY TO GO! Sometimes I laugh because I think that we are living twin lives in different states! OKay yours is a way more clean and organized hair brushed life but with 4 girls they just seem so similar sometimes! We just signed up to do wone of these as a family and we are so excited as well and we were just talking that we wanted to make it a regular event! Crazy!
That's Awesome! you are such good parents...I am so empressed with all that you do as a family... What a fun experience!
