We took a quick trip this weekend to St. Louis with some friends in the Ward. During Playgroup we were talking about how hard it is to get to the Temple since it's so far away, and trying to get someone to watch all your kids for that time isn't easy, so we decided we should all go and take turns. We had such a great trip! Friday morning 3 families went to the temple- it's such a good feeling to go- we really took it for granted having one so close in Utah and Las Vegas. After we got back we took the kids to the Children's Museum, it was HUGE! I kept thinking we had been to everything then I'd hear there's another level! Our favorite thing was the electric ball- I could feel the hair on my arms standing! The men and boys went to the Cardinals game while us women went to the mall. We got there late and only made it in 2 stores, but we did have time to let the kids play on the playground, ride the carousel, and a few of us got lost going home in a NASTY thunderstorm. We finally made it home after a near head on collision- that was way to close! Ashlee said a sweet prayer for us that was definitely heard!

Saturday morning the other 2 families went to the temple, after a quick swim we went to lunch at Ozzie's. The faces of the waitress when we told her we had 11 adults and 18 children- I so wish i had my camera out! We had told them ahead of time there were 29 of us, but I think the number of kids scared them a little. Two of the families left after lunch and 3 of us went to the zoo. It was hot and humid, but we had so much fun! We said goodbye to another family- I don't know how they made it for 5 hours- we were exhausted! The kids were pretty worn out after, but we really wanted to get over and see the Arch. Holy Crap! I knew it was big- but when you stand under it it's just amazing! We were so incredibly tired, but i somehow talked Darrell into meeting up with our friends at the mall- and we spent another few hours there.

Sunday morning we promised the kids we'd go to the Temple so they could walk around- but the gates were closed. We took a few pictures of them by it, and that had to do.
The drive home was good- no storms, and the kids slept for 2 of the 5 hours.
It was a great trip- quick, but so nice! Thanks for joining us Bench's, Bingham's, Hooper's, and Patterson's!

Yeah!! We're so glad you were able to go to the temple. We had thought your temple was in OK, but I guess we were wrong. We are appreciating the closeness of our temple more and more. Neat things just happen with a temple.
Glad you all are safe-wishing we could come and visit for Lexi (and everyone else).
What a fun trip! Love the pictures with the electrical ball.
Sounds like you had a blast. Love the pictures...
How fun! That is too funny about the waitress at the resturaunt. Cracks me up.

Such a fun trip!!! Love those pictures. You are right, We are so lucky to have a temple just 30 minutes away. I forget how difficult it can be for some to go. I need to take more advantage.
Sounds like a very fun-filled trip! Glad you had such a wonderful time in St. Louis!
Thanks for sharing the pics. I love Lexi's eyes. I'm going to call her "Big Blues".
