Last night Carly and I had a little movie night while Darrell took Lexi and Ashlee to the football game. I noticed around 7:00 she was a little warm, and she had been more ornery then normal yesterday.
I started the Bee Movie, and she just wouldn't sit still, and kept making kind of a whimpering sound. Then she yelled, "There's a man in my head and he won't let me sit still!!" I kind of laughed but wondered what in the heck she was talking about. Then she said, "Man, be quiet! Let me sit down and not hurt!" Then she said, "Mom, I have a dream in my head with the man." By this point I was cracking up, she was really warm, so I thought maybe she's warm enough she's delusional?! This went on for a few minutes, and she said, "Mom, something is wrong with my head- the man is hurting it and making noises that aren't good that hurt me." I finally figured out she must have a headache and didn't know how to explain it. I gave her Motrin- my kids all LOVE Motrin- it is the medical miracle in our house. She was upset because the pain was still there. I told her it takes a while for it to work- and that she had a little fever that was probably giving her a headache. She laid there watching the movie and after about 20 minutes was so relieved to tell me the man and dream were out of her head!
What a funny kid! Now if she was really hearing a man- I might be a little concerned!

Poor Carly! I hope she feels better and the man doesn't come back! That's a very creative way to describe it :)
I've never heard it explained quite like that. I kind of get concerned when kids say they hear things in their head. Her's isn't as far out as Allen (boy I watch) that Jesus was talking to him!? I didn't quite know what to make of that.
Poor Carly:( I hate it when my kids get headaches! Sometimes I think that is worse than them being sick witha cold!
Oh, poor thing...I also love Moltrin. It seems like it's the only medicine that works well and lasts a little longer for those fevers. What a little sweetie!
I love the ways children describe things. I would have guessed schitzophrenia!
Thanks for your comment, and yes we should be blog friends! It sounds like we have a lot in common.
I am sorry to hear about your daughter being sick...it's amazing how well Motrin works though!
Poor thing! That is a stinkin sweet way to explain it. I am glad she is feeling better.
I love motrin. It is the magic medicine at our house. I'm glad Carly is feeling better.
Poor baby. I hope she is better and that the man stays out of her head.
