Our family did the Gold Rush 5K again this year. If you read last year, you might remember the struggle I had keeping Carly going through the 5k. I basically was dragging her after a mile and a half- she was sobbing and was so tired! I felt horrible, but I just kept her going, while pushing Baylee in the stroller. In the end we had the police car right behind us- meaning we were dead LAST- so embarrassing!! But eventually a few women ended up behind us- I am still wondering if they decided to be nice...
But after last year I decided Carly, Baylee, and I would do the fun run- it's only a mile and you can walk or run. Carly and I missed the start- we started three minutes after other's had started the fun run! There was a little confusion and drama, but we found where we needed to be and it was really fun. I'm glad I only took her on the mile- she was happy and was able to play with friends while we waited for Darrell, Lexi, and Ashlee to finish the 5k.
Darrell and the girls finished right around 33 minutes. Lexi ran with a girl on her softball team and her coach, and Ashlee stayed with Darrell.
I'm so proud of my girls working so hard on their goals and accomplishing them- they love doing the 5k's and for the most part enjoy training for them!:)
