Love the Fireplace

We love to sit in front of the fireplace and get warm. I especially love it when the kids have just gotten out of the bath and smell so good. The combo of Aussie and Johnson & Johnson- so good! I asked the girls if they wanted pictures in front of the fire, and of course they all wanted one and one with with Baylee, she is quite popular in our house!

I took Bays in for her 6 month check up a few weeks ago, She is 17 pounds (71 %) and 27 inches (75%)!! She is like any 6 month old sitting, grabbing, chewing, drooling, rolling. I do worry about her sensitive skin, I hope it doesn't get worse as she gets older. She breaks out in a terrible rash if anything is put on her that has not been washed in Tide with Bleach. People can hold her, but if she rubs her face in someone that has perfume on, or uses other detergent she gets all teary eyed, and very red. It would be from me she gets this awful skin curse. I was hoping it would skip all my kids, but she got it. I don't want to put any steroids on her, since she is so young. I use a lot of Vaseline for her dry skin. If you look close at her pictures the shine on her face is not just slobber, it's Vaseline. If I forget to put it on her she is dry and rashy the next day. But look at this cute kid- shiny, greasy, and slobbery- she is still so adorable!!

Already loving books!
Carly had her 5 year check up and a whole lot of shots. I don't know what I was thinking having 2 kids getting shots on the same day! Carly thought it was really fun to do all kinds of balance tests and draw for the nurse. She did NOT think the finger prick for the CBC or the pottying in a cup was fun. I was bribing her like crazy if she'd go to the bathroom, and she was trying but it just wouldn't come out. Finally I put one of the "hats" in and she went. She still got her treat after 5 shots, finger prick, and the whole bathroom fiasco, she deserved it! I did find out she needs to have her eyes checked again, apparently she sees 20/50 and 20/70- um, that would be my gene too! She is the spitting image of her father, why couldn't she get his good eye sight too?!

Ashlee is loving her drums she got for Christmas, and I am loving that there is a volume control on them. She is working hard to get through all her books she got Christmas Eve because she has to read them before she can start Harry Potter. Is anyone else's kids as obsessed with Harry Potter as my kids are?!

Lexi started her new book series, Percy Jackson. She finished all 7 Harry Potters and LOVED them! I worried if they would be too scary, the 7th book was the only one she would stop reading and talk through a few parts so she wouldn't get too scared. She did have a lot of dreams dealing with magic and wands. One night Darrell went up to check on them and she was sleeping the wrong way in her bed. He moved her and she put her hand up like she had a wand in her hand and started waving it all around making the funniest noises. I am so glad all my kids have a love of reading. It's also fun for us as parents to be able to talk and discuss the books with the kids, and try to predict the endings.

I LOVE THESE GIRLS!

I love how Baylee's eyes are always open so wide in pics. She is so cute, they all are. You mentioned her sensitive skin. You should try the home made laundry soap. I have heard from so many people how much it helps their variety of skin problems. If it doesn’t work then you can just give it away. It makes a great V-Teaching gift. We have been using it since May and LOVE it. Its easy, easy clean up and cheep.
Love ya

I love Baylee's eyes!

Also, look into freederm. You can only buy it on the internet, but I swear by it. Thomas had awful skin when he was 6 months old, we tried every over the counter cream and even some steroids. I finally bought this stuff because I figured it wouldn't hurt, and it worked like a charm. I have told a bunch of friends about it and they all swear by it now, too. The website reads like a bad infomercial, but try to look past that. Good luck.

Here is my two cents worth on the skin, since I have 5 sensitive skin nightmares. (Remember AJ's scratch-till-you-bleed habit?) The best cream is Eucerin (in the pot, not a tube) and bathe her with Cerave sensitive wash. You usually have to order it at the pharmacy, but sometimes Walgreens has it. Put Eucerin on after every bath, at least.
Your girls are beautiful and growing so fast. Daniela is almost 5 months and it has gone by in a flash. Why does pregnancy go so slow and babyhood so fast?
