Nut's Play

Lexi had her Nut's play- it was so stinkin cute! She was a rain dancer, and a mighty fine one if I do say so myself.

She actually had to audition for a part- I think 2nd grade is too young to audition and worry about not making something, but if I could choose, my kids would live in a sweet bubble their whole life! She was showing me all her moves for the big audition, and she picked her outfit a few days before- she wanted to look perfect! She chose a white shirt with a blue skirt and her slip on shoes. The big day came and we did her hair just how she wanted that morning, and we wished her good luck and sent her off to school. School get's out at 3:00, and I was anxious to hear how she did- whether I need to console or congratulate her. She came in with a big smile and said she got a part! I was so happy- then I noticed what she looked like. Her cute little outfit was COVERED, I mean COVERED in BBQ sauce! I asked her what in the heck happened. She said at lunch she was opening her BBQ sauce and it exploded all over her. I asked her if this was before or after her audition- luckily after! I think she would have got the part whether she looked messy or not- I think the class teacher submits names to the music teacher to help her know who could remember the lines. But I don't want my kids walking around with food all over them either. They now carry extra clothes in their back packs.

Oh my heck, her 'rain skirt' is so dang cute! Where did you buy that thing? It must have cost a fortune to buy something that looks so awesome! You have got to get me the name of the place you bought such a masterpiece. ;)

That looks so cute. How many times have my kids come home COVERED in something and I can't figure out how they didn't notice it in the bathroom or their teacher didn't say something. Oh well.

You are so cute to send extra clothes in their backpacks. What a great mom! I thought you could stop carrying around extra clothes after toddlerhood! I am with you on 2nd grade being to young for auditions. Those poor kids who didn't get a part must have felt horrible! She does adorable!!

I should clarify what the play is- I forgot to add that in my post. the play is about the circle of life of an acorn. It takes place in the forest and what happens to the acorn when it falls. The songs are really cute, the whole thing was entertaining- Carly is still singing the songs!
