My friend had the best blog tag EVER! The tag is to share a picture of yourself when you were in the younger more awkward stage of life. I want all of you to do it! Come on- we're all friends! And we all went through a not so attractive stage- some probably more attractive then others, but still, just do it!
I was resting and feeling very queasy one day while we were in Las Vegas for Thanksgiving and Carly came out with some pictures my sister Robyn had in her purse. Robyn ALWAYS has tons of pictures in her purse of all her cute nieces and nephews- all 30 something of them! Imagine my surprise when Carly pulled out this picture from the stack!
This was me in 7th grade. A few things came to mind as I looked at this. One, why in the heck is Robyn carrying this picture of me and hopefully she isn't showing it to anyone! Two, HOLY CRAP- I never realized just how big my glasses were! Three, how many charms did I have on that necklace- I know I had 4 sets of best friend charms (I know, some are shocked that people would be friends with me looking like this, but I was fun, and nice, and very loud!) Four, that shirt is so busy it gives me a head ache!
At Thanksgiving dinner I pulled out this picture and showed it to Darrell's side of the family. I was advised not to put this picture on from my brother- in- law since he was so embarrassed for me! Again- why in the heck were my glasses so big?!
In my defense, the big glasses were in style, but I had a small face. I still have a hard time finding glasses that fit me right- they always fit too big. Last time I bought some, maybe 4 years ago one of the eye lady helper people recommended I go to the children's sections because none of the adult ones were fitting my face right!
See how brave I am! If I can share this picture of me, you can find one of your pictures and share also! I think it's hilarious to see how we've all changed! Can't wait to see those pictures!!
FYI- Lexi and Ashlee were getting bored on the plane ride home so I pulled out this picture- it entertained them for about 30 minutes, laughing and asking all kinds of questions about my glasses. Lexi wanted to know why someone didn't tell me they didn't fit right and that I needed a smaller pair!

It is funny-but it's good to laugh at yourself. My problem will be finding a pic-I think I burned them all :o) I love how interested kids are in the fact that you were a "kid" once.
I love it! Hilarious. I am already thinking of which of mine is the 'worst'...I think it is going to be 7th grade also...just wait. I have to scan it... bwa ha ha! Love it!
Yea!! Thanks for playing along and being a good sport! LOVE the glasses!! I had some huge beautiful glasses too. We were cool--that was the style! Thanks for the laugh!
I think you look like Lavier! And out of all of the kids to this day you look the most like him.
I do have to say, that your face looks just the same--it's just the glasses and clothes that have changed. I was just looking at this, and Jonah walked in and said, "Who is that?" I said it was Alissa Wiser and he said, "WHOA, those are BIG glasses!" Too funny!
I have so many memories of that beautiful mug! I think I actually went through my most awkward stage a little later in life, but just for you I think I will try to find my 7th grade picture too! It is true, I never would have told you your glasses were too big, because everyone's were! I love it! Thanks for sharing! Those were some of my 'good ole' days'!
I love it! That was so cute! I think my ugliest picture is from 7th grade as well. And I have a lot of REALLY UGLY pictures! Can't wait to share.
BIg glasses were in style, or maybe it is because we suffer from the same genes. Our faces are too small for adult size glasses. I have shopped in the kids section. I try now to look for the the ones that say petite.
How come my ugly stage goes from 4th grade to 9th? that's not fair!
I'm diggin the shoulder pads! I don't know, I'm thinking for me that the ugly and awkward photos are 6th thru 9th grade with my big Texas hair - I will have to dig them out!!
Alissa,
I was so sad when Darrell hugged Shanae boodbye because we were both sitting at the table and he didn't give me one!!!
You were hot!!! Great picture. Don't you just love those days!
I'll have to see what I can find. I know I have some really awkward pics of me too.
I think your pic looks pretty good. If that is your ugly pic your girls don't have anything to worry about. Of course my ugly pic is one for the history books. I know your laughing now, because you know which one I mean.
i LOVE those glasses alissa...and the cover the forehead bangs. i liked seeing you without the bangs when you were here! so cute. i agree with leighann...that is NOT an ugly one!
